Hewlett-Packard Company widely known as Hewlett Packard is an American multinational information technology corporation was founded by William R. Hewlett and David Packard in a one-car garage in the year 1939 and is headquartered in Palo Alto, California, United States having more than 331,800 employees. Hewlett Packard’s Market capitalization of approximately $31.9 Billion and stocks are traded over New York Stock Exchange and are an integral part of Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 Components. In 1999, Hewlett Packard incorporated the spin-off part of its business as Agilent Technologies, its merger with Compaq in 2002 and later on the acquisition of EDS in 2008 which led to collective revenues of over $118.4 billion in the year 2008. Hewlett Packard was ranked at no. 9 by Fortune 500 in the year 2009. In November 2009 Hewlett Packard acquired 3Com and a buyout of Palm for $1.2 billion. On September 2, 2010 Hewlett Packard won its bidding war for 3PAR with a $33 a share offer ($2.07 billion), resulting in Dell to step aside. In year 2012 Hewlett Packard generated revenue of US$ 120.357 billion.
 
According to a study conducted by BusinessWeek, Hewlett Packard was world's 11th most valuable brand as of 2009. From the time when this company was created the Hewlett Packard Logo has remained more or less the same and it is the main reason because of its extreme simplicity, Hewlett Packard logo is familiar to everyone all over the world. Hewlett Packard has many sponsorships like of Walt Disney World's Epcot Park's Mission: SPACE, shirt sponsor of Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur F.C. Hewlett Packard] were also the proud sponsors of Australian Football League club North Melbourne Football Club, they also sponsored the BMW Williams Companies Formula 1 team (2006) & sponsor Renault F1 (2010). Hewlett Packard has naming rights arrangement for the Hewlett Packard Pavilion at San Jose, home of the San Jose Sharks NHL hockey team.

Hewlett Packard’s product lines consists of personal computing devices, servers storage devices, networking products, software and printers. Hewlett Packard markets its goods to households and businesses directly as well as through online distribution, retailers and vendors.
