Eni reports big oil discovery off Ivory Coast

  • Eni (E) says it made a major oil discovery offshore Ivory Coast it says could contain as much as 2B barrels of oil.
  • The company says it found light oil in its 90%-owned block CI-101, which could hold 1.5B-2B barrels of oil in place and 1.8T-2.4T cf of associated gas.
  • The Baleine-1x exploration well 60 km off the coast is Eni 's first drilled in the Ivory Coast, where the company has stakes in four other deepwater blocks.
  • Eni recently said it made a new discovery offshore Mexico which could contain 150M-200M boe in place.

    Over the current book year the total revenue will be 65.23 billion euros (consensus estimates). This is hugely more than 2021's revenue of 43.99 billion euros.
