Eni buys 315 MW Italy wind portfolio in green push

  • Eni (NYSE:E) agrees to acquire 13 onshore wind farms in Italy, one of the country's largest wind portfolios, from Glennmont Partners and PGGM Infrastructure Fund for an undisclosed sum.
  • The portfolio includes 256 wind turbines located in the regions of Sicily, Apulia, Basilicata and Abruzzo, and its 315 MW capacity will lift Eni 's overall installed wind power capacity in Italy to 350 MW.
  • The deal "represents an important step forward for Eni 's renewable energy growth and will enable us to reach 4 GW of installed capacity in 2024," CEO Claudio Descalzi says.
  • Eni , which has pledged to be carbon neutral by 2050, announced plans earlier this year to spin off its new retail and renewable energy businesses as a single entity.

    For this year the company, located in Rome revenue will be around 64.35 billion euros. This is according to the average of the analysts' estimates. This is hugely more than 2021's revenue of 43.99 billion euros.

    The analysts expect for 2021 a net profit of 2.84 billion euros. Most of the analysts anticipate on a profit per share of 77 cent. So the price/earnings-ratio equals 12.66.

    Huge dividend Eni

    Per share the analysts expect a dividend of 72 cents per share. Eni 's dividend yield thus equals 7.38 percent. The average dividend yield of the oil & gas producers is a relatively high 3.08 percent.
