BlackBerry Stock: Can The Market Ignore Short-Term Negativity?

BlackBerry stock getting pummeled today after the company posted wide-than-expected losses for the third quarter amid decreasing sales. However, BlackBerry ’s software and services revenue came in line with expectations. BlackBerry reaffirmed full year revenue outlook of $950 million, while the Street was expecting $946.17 million.

Earlier this week, RBC Capital Markets analyst Paul Treiber raised his price target for BlackBerry , citing the company’s deal with AWS over connected vehicle security systems. The firm has a Sector Perform rating and a price target of $7.50 for BlackBerry .

Treiber said that the BlackBerry is a long-term value stock with several catalysts down the road.

For this year the company, located in Waterloo revenue will be around 943,49 million USD. This is according to the average of the analysts' estimates. This is rather significant more than 2019's revenue of 1,04 billion USD.

The analysts expect for 2020 a net profit of 91 million USD. According to most of the analysts the company will have a profit per share for this book year of 17 cent. So the price/earnings-ratio equals 40,88.

For this year analysts don't expect the company to pay a dividend. The average dividend yield of the telecommunications companies is a poor 0,66 percent.

Based on the current number of shares BlackBerry 's market capitalization equals 3,8 billion USD. The BlackBerry stock was the past 12 months quite unstable. Since last December the stock is 6 percent higher. This year the stock price moved between 3 and 10 dollar.
