Roku closes on acquisition of Nielsen's advanced video ad business

  • Roku (NASDAQ:ROKU) has closed the acquisition of Nielsen's (NYSE:NLSN) Advanced Video Advertising business.
  • The two announced the transaction March 1, a catalyst that boosted both stocks.
  • The acquisition includes Nielsen's video automatic content recognition and dynamic ad insertion tech - which will accelerate Roku's plans for an end-to-end dynamic ad insertion solution for traditional television.
  • The two also have a long-term strategic partnership to integrate Nielsen's ad and content measurement products into Roku's platform (which will also advance the Nielsen One cross-media measurement solution).

    Over the current book year the total revenu from the company based in San Jose will be 2.57 billion USD (consensus estimates). This is quite more than 2020's revenue of 1.78 billion USD.

    The analysts expect for 2021 a net loss of 31 million USD. According to most of the analysts the company will have a loss per share for this book year of 27 cent. The price-earnings-ratio equals -1320.81.
