Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) stock is trading in the green after the company reported strong results for the fiscal fourth quarter 2018 and gave an upbeat forecast. The company earned 1.13 per share, excluding certain items, better than the Street’s forecast of $1.08 per share. Revenue in the period came in at $30.09 billion, more than $29.21 billion as expected by analysts.
For the first quarter of fiscal 2019, Microsoft expects personal computing revenue of $9.95 billion to $10.25 billion in the first quarter, while analysts FactSet estimated revenue of $9.87 billion. Intelligent Cloud revenue is forecasted to come in at $8.15 billion to $8.35 billion, with Wall Street expects $8.15 billion.
For this year Microsoft 's revenue will be around 122,76 billion USD. This is according to the average of the analysts' estimates. This is hugely more than 2017's revenue of 110,36 billion USD.
The analysts expect for 2018 a net profit of 32,92 billion USD. Most of the analysts anticipate on a profit per share of 4,27 USD. Based on this the price/earnings-ratio is 25,22.
Per share the analysts expect a dividend of 1,79 USD per share. Microsoft 's dividend yield thus equals 1,66 percent. The average dividend yield of the software & services companies equals a moderate 0,5 percent.
At 17.39 the stock trades 1,65 percent lower at 107,68 USD.
