Sofina SA is a Belgium based investment firm that invests in a large number of industrial sectors including both listed and un-listed conglomerate. The investment is mainly done in the fields of Energy & Services, Retailing, Consumer-goods, Telecommunications, Community services, Distribution, Portfolio industries and private equity. The company has been headquartered in Brussels, Belgium and the other locations of investments of the company are holding the presence in North America, UK and The Netherlands. Yves Boel is the Chairman and Count Richard Goblet d'Alviella is the Chief Executive Officer of the company.

The overall capitalization of the company counts to be 79.734.940 € and the shares have been distributed in the amount of 34.750.000 with the trading of the company listed on the Euronext Brussels stock exchange. Talking about the percentages of different sectors can be justified as: 7 % by Telecommunications, 6 % of Bank & Insurances, 18 % of Company services themselves, 31 % buy Consumables goods, Energy is having 6 %, 8 % Distributing sectors and the remaining 10 % within other sectors.

One of the company’s division: Energy & Services investing is done in Suez Environnement, bioMerieux, Exmar, International Power and GDF Suez to perform the activities of manufacturing, selling of energy and environmental products. Other works involve transporting of LPG (including ammonia, butane and propane); designing and manufacturing and marketing of invitro diagnostic equipments for industrialized and clinical apps; finally performing the water and waste managing activities. B & W Group, Chapoutier, Rapala and Danone are the investment areas in the Retailing sector mainly focusing on the manufacturing of the dairy, mineral water, lures and hooks (for fishing), wine and marketing of loud-speaker equipments. SES is the main company including in the Satellite Communications sectors serving mainly in the satellite operations, offering transmission servicing for radio-stations and TV’s, data broadcasting, tele-communication, Internet accessing, leased refrigeration vehicles and for standardizing mobiles services.

In addition, the group is engaged in designing and printing of bank notes and for other secure documentations of other institutes; production of timber system for constructing work; investing in possessions, energy, financing and insurances, privately help industries; and at last in managing of funds for privatized assets and hedging sectors. And in the Finance sector invest in, the major contributors to the company includes Luxempart, Caledonia and Eurazeo. The partners in the Industrial sectors have Deceuninck, Touax, Mersen, Ipsos, Oberthur Fiduciare and Petit Forestier in the line.

Participants of many of the big names likely, Delhaize, Eurazeo, GDF Suez, SES, Danone, Colruyt and Richemont are also in the list of the holders of investments with this firm. There are many of the auxiliary units of the company empowering the working status including, Sofina Multi Stategy, Tufilux, Trufidee, Truficar, Sofilec, Sofindev, Sidro, Finabru and Rebelco, which have a strong presence in the regions of Panama, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and last but not the least Belgium.
