Qualcomm, SSW have $4.5 billion deal for Veoneer

  • Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) and SSW Partners have announced a definitive deal to acquire Veoneer (NYSE:VNE) for $4.5 billion.
  • That's a $37/share all-cash transaction. And Veoneer has terminated its acquisition agreement with Magna International (NYSE:MGA) and canceled the Oct. 19 special meeting it set up to approve that deal.
  • The plan is for SSW Partners, an investment partnership, to acquire Veoneer's capital stock; retain the Tier 1 supplier businesses; and sell the Arriver business to Qualcomm (where there's already a business relationship).
  • Qualcomm would incorporate Arriver's Computer Vision, Drive Policy and Driver Assistance assets into its Snapdragon Ride Advanced Driver Assistance Systems solution.
  • Qualcomm is the "natural owner of Arriver," says Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon. "We believe that this transaction and structure benefits both Qualcomm 's and Veoneer's shareholders, positions all of Veoneer's businesses for success and provides a compelling opportunity to customers and employees."

    Over the current book year the total revenu from the company based in San Diego will be 33.02 billion USD (consensus estimates). This is hugely more than 2021's revenue of 21.73 billion USD.
