Cheniere signs 13-year LNG supply deal with China's ENN

  • Cheniere Energy (LNG) rises to within $2/share of its 52-week high after China's ENN Group gas unit signed a 13-year liquefied natural gas purchase contract.
  • The deal calls for ENN to receive 900K metric tons/year starting July 2022, with prices indexed to the Henry Hub price on a free-on-board basis.
  • Cheniere CEO Jack Fusco says the deal further advances the company's efforts to contract LNG capacity on a long-term basis in anticipation of a final investment decision on the Corpus Christi Stage 3 project, which is expected to occur next year.
  • In July, Cheniere announced a long-term gas supply agreement with Tourmaline Oil, which the company expected would support the development of Corpus Christi Stage 3.
