Tesla Shanghai to manufacture 300,000 cars in January-September

  • Tesla's (NASDAQ:TSLA) Shanghai factory is expected to produce 300,000 cars in the first nine months of the year, despite a global semiconductor shortage, Reuters reported citing two unidentified sources.
  • The factory makes the electric Model 3 sedans and Model Y sport-utility vehicles for domestic and international markets.
  • Around 240,000 vehicles were shipped from the factory in the first eight months. However, TSLA has not announced details on the factory's production.
  • In August, Tesla sold 44,264 China-made vehicles, an increase from the 32,968 units sold in July and 33,155 units sold in June.
  • Also, at the World Internet Conference hosted by the Cyberspace Administration of China, Elon Musk reassured Tesla's commitment to China.
  • Musk said the automaker will continue to expand its investments in the country.
  • 'My frank observation is that China spends a lot of resources and efforts applying the latest digital technologies in different industries, including the automobile industry, making China a global leader in digitalization," Musk said in the latest video.

    For this year the company from Palo Alto could earn a total revenue around 50.51 billion USD. This is according to the average of the analysts' estimates. This is hugely more than 2021's revenue of 31.54 billion USD.

    The analysts expect for 2021 a net profit of 5.77 billion USD. The majority of the analysts expects for this year a profit per share of 5.46 USD. The PE-ratio therefore is a significant 143.36.

    For this year analysts don't expect the company to pay a dividend. The average dividend yield of the automobile producers equals a relatively high 2.78 percent.

    Goldman Sachs , RBC Capital Markets and Sanford C. Bernstein & Co recently provided recommendations for the stock.
