Intel's $9B NAND unit sale approved by CFIUS

Intels sells unit to SK Hynix

  • The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States has approved the sale of Intel 's (NASDAQ:INTC) NAND storage unit to South Korea's SK Hynix for $9B.
  • The deal already received approval from the FTC. SK Hynix hopes to gain the remaining approvals, which include the UK ad China, during 2021.
  • The acquisition will make SK Hynix the world's second-largest NAND company behind Samsung and help Intel fund its core logic businesses.
  • SK Hynix will pay $7B of the total when the deal closes and the remainder by March 2025.
  • Intel announced the sale of its NAND unit last October.

    For this year Intel 's revenue will be around 72.74 billion USD. This is according to the average of the analysts' estimates. This is slightly lower than 2020's revenue of 77.87 billion USD.

    The analysts expect for 2021 a net profit of 19.35 billion USD. Most of the analysts anticipate on a profit per share of 4.75 USD. Based on this the price/earnings-ratio is 13.85.

    Analysts expect a dividend of 1.38 USD per share. Thus the dividend yield equals 2.1 percent. The average dividend yield of the semiconductor companies equals a limited 0.68 percent.

    KBC Securities, Credit Suisse and Susquehanna recently provided recommendations for the stock.

    Intel 's market value equals around 282.2 billion . The Intel stock was the past 12 months quite unstable. Since last March the stock is even 42 percent higher. This year the stock price moved between 44 and 66 dollar.
