Why You Should Never Short Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA)

Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) is one of the largest shorted stocks in the US, despite being one of the most growth-oriented companies. The stock has gained about 65% since the start of the year. Short-sellers argue that Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) isn’t profitable. But analysts think that there are several successful companies which aren’t profitable, as they spend a lot on futuristic technologies.

Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) will launch Model 3 in July. The company has fixed its production cycle, and is expected to produce 5,000 Model 3 cars by the end of 2017. This rate will rise to 10000 cars a week in 2018. Well-known analyst firm Pacific Crest has a price target of $439 on the stock.
