The results show HAProxy customers running SaaS-level threat detection on their own infrastructure, with no external connection required and full compatibility with air-gapped environments — going live in about two months, implemented entirely by their own teams. HAProxy earned 86 badges across eight categories, including 27 Leader placements and Momentum Leader in five categories at once, and is the only product ranked in all eight of the G2 categories in which it appears, spanning application delivery, application security, and platform Engineering .

Fourteen consecutive quarters at #1 in load balancing

HAProxy holds the #1 rank in the G2 Overall Grid^® Report for Load Balancing for the fourteenth consecutive quarter (an unbroken run since Summer 2023), along with #1 in the Enterprise and Mid-Market Grid^® Reports. Its Satisfaction score of 100 is the highest possible, matched by no other product in the category, and now sustained for five consecutive quarters, while the largest cloud and hyperscaler alternatives score between 59 and 61, a Gap of 39 points.

That score rests on the largest verified customer base in the category. HAProxy's 841 authenticated reviews exceed the combined Total Fina Elf of the Next six most-reviewed products. Across the category's 26 Fall 2026 reports, HAProxy ranks #1 in 18, including a clean sweep of all four Relationship Indexes and #1 in all three Implementation Index segments.

SaaS-level security, entirely on your own infrastructure

HAProxy competes in three G2 application security categories: Web Application Firewall (WAF), DDoS Protection, and Bot Detection and Mitigation. Across all three categories, HAProxy's results demonstrate architectural sovereignty and operational sovereignty in practice. Our customers decide where HAProxy runs; and they implement it and maintain it on their own terms — without compromising speed, results, or costs.

HAProxy is deployed at scale in both cloud and on-premises environments, helping customers to avoid cloud lock-in and build on whatever infrastructure they prefer. 38% of its WAF deployments run in cloud and 62% on-premises, 45% and 55% in DDoS Protection, and 30% and 70% in Bot Detection and Mitigation. The closest cloud-delivered platforms run between 10% and 33% on-premises.

Implementation is owned by the customer, without reliance on seller services or consultants, and regardless of whether HAProxy is deployed in the cloud or on-premises. 90% of WAF deployments are implemented in-house, 92% in DDoS Protection, and 100% in Bot Detection and Mitigation.

Deployment runs at cloud speed. HAProxy security goes live in 2.0 months in WAF, 2.0 months in DDoS Protection, and 1.6 months in Bot Detection and Mitigation, comparable with cloud-delivered products, and in some cases faster.

On capability, HAProxy is cloud and SaaS alternatives. On G2's Meets Requirements rating, HAProxy matches the largest cloud security provider in both WAF and DDoS Protection (93% each) and is ahead of it in Bot Detection and Mitigation (97% against 94%). HAProxy holds #1 in all four WAF Results Indexes (Enterprise, Mid-Market, Small-Business, and Overall) for a second consecutive quarter.

Support is where the margin is widest. HAProxy's customer-rated Quality of Support is 93% in WAF, 94% in DDoS Protection, and 96% in Bot Detection and Mitigation, which puts HAProxy 9, 8, and 12 points respectively ahead of the largest cloud security provider, and above category average in all three. Its Net Promoter Score is ahead of that same provider's NPS in all three categories, by 16 points in WAF, 7 in DDoS Protection, and 20 in Bot Detection and Mitigation. G2 recognized HAProxy's customer relationships with 10 Best Relationship badges across the portfolio, five of them in the security categories.

Return on investment arrives in only five months. HAProxy customers report recovering their WAF investment in 5 months against a 13-month category average. WAF user adoption stands at 78% against a 63% category average, indicating that security teams buying HAProxy deploy it fully rather than stalling.
