Shell to supply PetroChina with carbon neutral LNG in five-year deal

  • Royal Dutch Royal Dutch Shell ( Royal Dutch Shell A .A, Royal Dutch Shell A .B) says it signed a five-year contract to supply PetroChina (NYSE:PTR) with carbon neutral liquefied natural gas.
  • For each cargo delivered under the agreement, the two companies will "cooperate to offset life-cycle carbon dioxide equivalent emissions generated across the LNG value chain, using high-quality carbon credits from nature-based projects," Royal Dutch Shell says.
  • Separately, Royal Dutch Shell will join a project in Norway to produce hydrogen from natural gas while capturing the emissions, Aker Clean Hydrogen says.
  • The clean hydrogen could be used to decarbonize local industries, for emissions-free fuel for vehicles and ships, or for export to Europe, ACH says.

Over the current book year the company from Den Haag's total revenue could be around 284.83 billion euros (consensus estimates). This is rather significant more than 2021's revenue of 180.54 billion euros.
