State Street Global Advisors Expands Real Estate Offering with New ETF

State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), the asset management arm of State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT), today announced the launch of the SPDR FTSE EPRA Europe ex UK Real Estate UCITS Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF). The fund, which listed on the Deutsche Börse, Xetra today, tracks the FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Developed Europe ex UK Index.

The index is a subset of the FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Developed Index (Global) and tracks the performance of listed real estate operating companies (REOCs) and real estate investment trusts (REITs) in Europe.

Alexis Marinof, head of SPDR ETFs for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) commented, “With extensive quantitative easing still in place in Europe, many investors are turning to the steady income, potential for inflation protection, and diversification that an investment in real estate can offer.

“Our fund provides investors with cost-efficient, liquid access to a diversified, core real estate allocation, in what is generally a difficult-to-access market segment.” Sudir Raju, managing director, Exchange Traded Product (ETP) Relationships at FTSE Russell said, “As investors continue to diversify their exposure to high yielding asset classes, listed real estate remains an attractive source of income.”
