Gordon Riske is appointed CEO of Linde Material Handling and Member of the KION Group Executive Board

Wiesbaden, May 14, 2007 - Gordon Riske (49) has been appointed the new CEO of Linde Material Handling GmbH (LMH) and a member of the Executive Board of KION Group GmbH. Riske will assume office by October 1, 2007 at the latest. He will also represent LMH on the Executive Committee of the KION Group. Hubertus Krossa (59), CEO of KION Group GmbH, said "I am pleased to welcome Gordon Riske, a top manager with a great deal of capital market experience, to lead the Linde Material Handling management team. With his international expertise in the mechanical engineering and motive engineering sectors, Gordon Riske, together with our CEO Dr Nedim Cen, will ensure long-term continuity of on the Executive Board of the KION Group. In his operational role as CEO of Linde Material Handling,Gordon Riske will be ideally placed to familiarize himself with our company, with a view to becoming my successor as CEO of KION in the medium term." The Supervisory Board of the KION Group is delighted with the appointment of Gordon Riske, who has many years of experience, both in managing industrial companies and in dealing with the requirements of the capital market. It believes that this step will further strengthen the KION Group management team. Mr Riske succeeds Dr Stefan Rinck (49) as CEO of Linde Material Handling. Mr Rinck will take over responsibility for driving forward the Linde Hydraulics operations, and in his new role will remain a member of the Executive Committee of the KION Group. Mr Riske, who was born in the US, is currently Chairman of the Management Board of DEUTZ AG in Cologne, an MDAX-listed company and a world-leading manufacturer of diesel and gas engines. In this rôle, he has been responsible for the successful growth strategy and capital market focus of DEUTZ AG since February 2000. Prior to that, he worked in various management positions in the US and in Germany for the KUKA Group, most recently as Managing Director of the Management Board of KUKA Roboter GmbH, Augsburg. Mr Riske studied electrical engineering at the Lawrence Institute of Technology, Southfield, Michigan, and has a BBA from GSBA, Zurich.
