Hyperscale Data Center Model Accelerated By 8.5x Using AI

E-J Electric partners with Augmenta to model a 1M+ square foot data center in record time, as the industry races to keep up with surging demand

TORONTO, Sept. 03, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- E-J Electric Installation Co, an ENR Top 50 contractor based in Long Island City, New York, completed initial model population on a 1M+ square foot hyperscale data center project in record time; 8.5x faster, using Augmenta’s AI-powered virtual design automation platform. The initial population, which would normally take about 693 hours, was completed in 82 hours.

Data center construction is a national issue, impacting the United States’ ability to keep pace with China in the AI arms race. In April 2026, U.S. data center construction reached a $50.7 billion annual rate, according to U.S. Census Bureau data, making it the largest single segment of American office construction.
