London, UK, Sept. 02, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Samuel Leeds Academy, a property education business founded by British entrepreneur Samuel Leeds, is taking its flagship competition series, The Eviction, to the United States for the first time. Episodes for the new series will be filmed this September in Texas.
The Academy has run three versions of The Eviction in the UK (2020, 2022, and 2024), and this time will bring 12 participants to the US to compete in the series over two weeks. Participants will engage in challenges focused on property, business, negotiations, and entrepreneurship.
Through its Edutainment series, the Academy hopes to bring its property education and investment system to the US and evolve its business strategies to the substantial differences in the US and UK real estate markets.
Leeds said:
“The US has been on my radar for a long time, but I didn’t want to simply arrive and try to recreate what we do in Britain.
“The American property market is different. The financing is different, the terminology is different, and many of the strategies are structured differently.
“The Eviction gives us an opportunity to put people into that environment, work with American property professionals, and create something specifically for the US market.”
Testing Business Skills Rather Than Property Knowledge
The Eviction is designed as an entertainment-led competition rather than a traditional property training program.
Contestants live together and complete a series of tasks designed to test their ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, communicate, negotiate, work with other people, and make decisions under pressure.
Contestants are eliminated as the series progresses.
For the US edition, previous real estate experience will not be required.
Leeds said this was an important part of the format.
“If everybody already understands property, you’re only testing who knows the most.
“I’m much more interested in finding out who can learn quickly and execute.
“Someone who works in healthcare, the military, construction, or sales could bring skills that an experienced Investor doesn’t have. Put those people together and suddenly you have a much more interesting competition.”
Why Texas?
Texas will provide the setting for the first American edition, with filming scheduled between 14 and 30 September 2026.
The state has become a natural starting point for the project as Leeds develops relationships with US real estate professionals and explores how investment strategies operate in the American market.
Challenges are expected to combine property and wider commercial skills, rather than relying solely on contestants' technical knowledge.
The series will be released through Leeds' YouTube platforms.
Nationwide Casting Underway
Casting is currently open across the United States, with the production looking for a diverse group of personalities and professional backgrounds. Applicants must be at least 18, legally eligible to participate, available for the full filming period and comfortable being filmed throughout the competition.
Accommodation will be provided during filming, although contestants will arrange and pay for their own travel to and from Texas. The application process includes an initial application, a more detailed second-stage questionnaire and, for selected candidates, a short video audition. The final 12 will then be chosen for the Texas production.
A Different Route Into the US Market
Rather than launching initially through a conventional seminar or property course, Leeds sees the competition as a way of introducing both himself and his approach to an American audience through entertainment.
He said:
“People can watch educational property videos anywhere. What makes this different is seeing people actually put ideas into practice.
“They’ll make good decisions and bad decisions. They’ll disagree. They’ll have to change strategy. Some people who look incredibly strong at the beginning may struggle, and somebody nobody expects could emerge as the best contestant.
“That journey is far more interesting than watching somebody stand at the front of a room teaching.”
The US series will also provide an opportunity to highlight the differences between British property investing and American real estate while bringing local brokers, investors, and other industry professionals into the production.
Leeds believes the American version could become an ongoing part of the Eviction format if the first Texas series performs well.
“The UK series has evolved every time we’ve done it. America gives us the opportunity to take that another step further.
“Texas is the beginning. We want to find 12 brilliant people and see what happens when the competition starts.”
Applications for The Eviction USA are now open to eligible applicants across the United States.
(Applications are subject to eligibility requirements and casting decisions. Submission of an application does not guarantee progression or selection as a contestant.)
