Dollar General Celebrates Partnership Anniversary with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville
Dollar General proudly marked its 19th consecutive year partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville, continuing its commitment to expanding access to safe and affordable housing in middle Tennessee communities. During June 2026, more than 80 DG employees volunteered approximately 550 combined hours helping build homes for families in south Nashville.
“Habitat for Humanity’s work reflects the heart of our mission of Serving Others, and we are proud to be a longstanding partner of their efforts to supporthardworking homeowners,” said Denine Torr, Dollar General ’s vice president of corporate social responsibility and philanthropy. “For nearly 20 years, our combined efforts have supported families on their path to stability and success.”
Along with on-site volunteering , Dollar General also provided each new homeowner with housewarming gift packages filled with DG products to help families settle into their new homes.
Since its founding in 1985, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville has supported more than 1.37 million homeowners, including 2,300 children, creating stronger, more stable futures for families across Middle Tennessee. The nonprofit builds quality, affordable homes for hardworking individuals and families throughout Davidson, Wilson, Cheatham, Dickson and Robertson counties.
