ENCAVIS acquires a wind project in Schierenberg (48 MW) from ABO Energy – four additional joint projects agreed upon
Hamburg, 30 September 2025 – Hamburg-based wind and solar park operator Encavis has acquired a ready-to-build wind farm project from ABO Energy with a generation capacity of 48 megawatts (MW). The wind farm, consisting of eight wind turbines, will be built in Schierenberg (Brandenburg), approximately 100 kilometers southeast of Berlin, and is scheduled to go online in the first quarter of 2027. It is the first of five jointly planned wind projects, which together have a total generation capacity of 106 MW.
“With the Schierenberg wind project, we are consistently continuing our successful partnership with ABO Energy. The fact that we are now implementing five additional projects together highlights the strategic importance of this collaboration for expanding our wind portfolio in Germany. With currently around 800 MW of installed wind capacity in Germany, we are sending a strong signal for the energy transition and sustainable power supply,” said Mario Schirru, CEO of Encavis .
“Our company has been working very well and trustfully with Encavis for several years. That’s why we are particularly pleased to have now established a cooperation for a portfolio of five additional wind farms. Long-term partnerships between developers and investors make the complex sales process significantly easier and smoother,” said Sebastian Sprengart, Head of Financing and Sales at ABO Energy.
In Schierenberg, eight Vestas wind turbines of type V150/6.0 will be used, each with a hub height of 169 meters. Each turbine has a generation capacity of 6 MW. Once completed, the wind farm is expected to produce nearly 148 gigawatt hours (GWh) of green electricity annually on average. The power purchase is secured via a 20-year EEG feed-in tariff agreement. Maintenance for this period will be handled by Vestas.
