Energiekontor and the city of Elsdorf conclude purchase agreements for two German wind park projects

Bremen, 13 August 2025 – Energiekontor AG (“Energiekontor”), a leading German project developer and operator of wind and solar parks based in Bremen and listed in the General Standard, has sold two German wind park projects with a total generation capacity of 40 megawatts to the city of Elsdorf and has thus successfully completed two further transactions in the current 2025 financial year.

The two onshore wind park projects sold are the Elsdorf-Frankeshoven and Elsdorf-Tollhausen projects in the Rhein-Erft district of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The projects have a total generation capacity of around 40 megawatts. The transactions have been carried out at municipal level. The buyer of the two turnkey projects is the city of Elsdorf.

The Elsdorf-Frankeshoven and Elsdorf-Tollhausen wind parks will each have a generation capacity of around 17 and 23 megawatts. A total of seven Nordex SE N149 wind turbines are planned for the two sites. The individual turbines have a hub height of approximately 164 meters and a rotor diameter of 149 meters. The average expected annual output of both wind parks from the first full year of operation is around 90 gigawatt hours – enough to supply more than 27,000 average households with renewable electricity and save around 68,000 tons of CO2 per year. The projects also benefit from an EEG feed-in tariff, which was awarded by the Federal Network Agency as part of this year's February tender.

“We are very pleased about this joint engagement with the city of Elsdorf. Collaborations such as these strengthen local added value from renewable energies. We are thus making an important contribution to the energy transition at municipal level,” says Peter Szabo, CEO of Energiekontor AG. “Including these two transactions, we have now completed four sales in the current financial year. Further projects in Germany and abroad are currently in the sales process, some of which are already well advanced, and are to be successfully completed in the coming weeks and months.”

“Through this acquisition, the city of Elsdorf benefits financially from the wind park projects, for the good of all citizens. At the same time, the expansion of wind power helps Elsdorf become more independent in terms of energy supply and makes an important contribution to the energy transition in the region,” emphasizes Andreas Heller, Mayor of Elsdorf.

More than 200 megawatts, which are also earmarked for the Group's own portfolio, are currently under construction. Energiekontor also plays a pioneering role in economic terms and aims to realise the first wind and solar parks in all target markets at market prices as quickly as possible, independently of state subsidies.
