Citigroup starts offering for $1B social finance bond

  • Citigroup (C) introduces its inaugural social finance bond, a $1B bond that supports social-focused development in emerging markets around the world.
  • The proceeds will finance a range of projects, including those that expand access to financial services affordable housing, basic infrastructure, healthcare, and education in underserved and unbanked communities in emerging markets. The offering is expected to settle on Nov. 3, 2021.
  • The Citi Social Finance Bond is part of the bank's $1T commitment to sustainable finance announced earlier this year. As part of its $500B goal for social finance, Citi aims to expand access to essential services for 15M households, including 10M women, within the first few years of its 2030 commitment.

    For this year the company, based in New York City revenue will be around 71.18 billion USD. This is according to the average of the analysts' estimates. This is slightly lower than 2021's revenue of 74.3 billion USD.

    The analysts expect for 2021 a net profit of 21.49 billion USD. For this year the majority of the analysts, consulted by press agency Thomson Reuters, expects a profit per share of 10.47 USD. Based on this the price/earnings-ratio is 6.47.

    Per share the analysts expect a dividend of 2.05 USD per share. Thus the dividend yield equals 3.03 percent. The average dividend yield of the banks is an attractive 3.02 percent.
