Frøya, 15 September 2026 – As announced on 6 September, Kaldvík AS (“Kaldvík” or the “Company”) has experienced a jellyfish event at its farming sites in Reyðarfjörður.
The affected 2025 generation has experienced approximately 6.5 percentage points of additional mortality since Friday, 4 September, as a result of the event.
Kaldvík has responded to the event by initiating increased harvesting from selected cages and mobilising additional vessels to increase mortality removal capacity and reduce the risk of further losses.
Based on the Company’s current assessment, Kaldvík’s harvest guidance for 2026 remains unchanged at approximately 17,000 tonnes.
Currently, Jellyfish presence in the fjord has declined, while monitoring remains ongoing.
The Company will provide further updates when appropriate.
