SIXT drives international expansion and launches new partnership in New Zealand

Auckland / Pullach, November 25th, 2020 – SIXT, the international provider of high-end mobility services based in Germany, has appointed Premium Mobility Services, the car rental subsidiary of the Giltrap Group, as its franchise partner for New Zealand. The Giltrap Group is New Zealand’s leading automotive company with over 50 years in the automotive market, providing an infrastructure that includes distribution, retail, and vehicle financing.

SIXT is one of the largest car rental companies in the world with a fleet of 280,000 cars (2019), in around 110 countries. The partnership leverages SIXT’s extensive experience in mobility for more than 100 years and the Giltrap Group’s unique potential to shape the future of the mobility market in New Zealand with launching an innovative car subscription model. The premium mobility provider, SIXT New Zealand, will be welcoming its customers in Auckland, Christchurch, Queenstown and Wellington starting from December 1st this year. Additional branches in major cities and at the relevant airports across New Zealand are planned.

The car subscription allows customers to explore flexible car usage options of 6, 9 or 12 months with a brand-new vehicle that best suits their individual mobility needs. Benefitting from the close ties to the Giltrap Group, the vehicle fleet comprises European and Japanese premium vehicles from compacts and limousines to SUVs, all-wheel drive and luxury sport vehicles. Electric vehicles (EV’s) are also part of the fleet. Many vehicles are guaranteed models to ensure that local customers and travelers in New Zealand have the freedom to choose a vehicle that best meets their specific mobility demands.
