Baar, Switzerland - October 17, 2018 - LION Smart GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of LION E-Mobility AG, was chosen as the winner of this year's eMove360° Battery Award. The award ceremony took place on the evening of 15.10.2018 in the festive atmosphere of the Munich Glyptothek at the start of the trade fair for electric mobility, autonomous driving and charging infrastructure eMove360°.

The eMove360° Award was presented in the categories Mobility Concepts & Software AG , Charging & Energy, Battery, Powertrain, Automated Driving & Electronics and Electric Vehicle. Highlights from a technical point of view were the two prize winners in the Battery and Powertrain categories. LION Smart was awarded the prize for its LIGHT Battery concept, which focuses on a lightweight, modular design of the batteries and on the communication of the individual cell modules with the battery management system via infrared light.

"We are very pleased that our intensive work on a battery pack for the mobility of the future was so well received by the jury and that our solution was so convincing. The team has done a fantastic job in the development over the past nine months. The task now is to implement this in series production with future-oriented companies," says Tobias Mayer, President and CEO of the LION Group.

Actor, author and documentary filmmaker Hannes Jaenicke and singer and entertainer Tobey Wilson, who accompanied the evening as presenters and ambassadors of New Mobility, underlined the importance of electric mobility for society and future generations.

"The great task of shaping the mobility of the future employs the best minds around the world - in Munich, in Bavaria, throughout Germany and Europe or even in China - and regularly produces technical innovations and very intelligent concepts with which we can decarbonate mobility in the future. We congratulate all winners and finalists" says Robert Metzger, Managing Director of MunichExpo and organizer of the eMove360 ° Award for Electric Mobility & Autonomous Driving 2018.
